The 30 successful applicants for Welsh Crucible 2011 have now been chosen by a specially convened selection panel. Participants were selected for their excellence in research, as well as their commitment to working with other researchers from different disciplines. The thirty successful applicants are working in research fields that are aligned with the Welsh Assembly Government’s research priority areas, and all demonstrated broader interests outside of their basic research. The participants on Welsh Crucible 2011 will come from a wide range of disciplines, including the life sciences, social sciences, engineering, earth sciences, physical sciences and the humanities. They will meet for the first time in Cardiff in May 2011.
