Trefor Aspden is a Lecturer in Psychology at Aberystwyth University. His research interests are in the domains of health and clinical psychology, focusing on mental health and wellbeing, and in particular wellbeing in vulnerable groups. Trefor completed his PhD titled “The influence of implicit and explicit motives on health relate-behaviour” in Bangor University in 2010. He went on to work in Royal Holloway University and later as a Senior Research Associate in University College London where he worked on two randomised controlled trials: the CanTalk study, looking at the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for depression in patients with advanced cancer, and the Victim Improvement Package trial, looking at the effectiveness of CBT for improving anxiety and depression in older victims of crime.
