Taslima is a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Information Systems at Cardiff Metropolitan University and a User Centred Design Researcher with PDR – a world leading design research consultancy. She is also a Visiting Lecturer in Creative Industries (Art, Media and Design) at the University of South Wales and a Visiting Researcher with Transtechnology Research at the University of Plymouth. In 2015, she completed her PhD, namely, a postcolonial investigation into the role of culture and hegemony in industrial design practice, process and pedagogy. Taslima’s cross-disciplinary teaching and research focuses around the nexus of design, technology, computing and socio-cultural studies. She currently second supervises a prof-doc in user-centred service design in HE and a doctoral candidate in social media and crime detection. Her most recent collaboration was on an EPSRC funded project investigating the opportunities 3D printing and redistributed manufacturing offer in creating value in SMEs working alongside engineers, designers, educators and creative practitioners.
