Renin is an expert in cardiovascular and infectious disease epidemiology and a fully accredited ONS researcher. She is currently a Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Honorary Lecturer at Bristol Medical School. She obtained a PhD in Medicine/Epidemiology from the University of Wollongong, Australia, followed by post-doctoral research in Sydney focused on geographic monitoring of cardiovascular risks to inform regional policy developments. She joined University of Bristol in 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher and involved in COVID-19 National Core Studies as part of the UK’s emergency response to the pandemic and currently contributing in a honorary capacity. Her mission is to identify the long-term cardiovascular effects and related deaths post COVID-19 in the UK population. Renin is open to collaboration with government and other agencies on whole population analyses that leverage big data, multilevel analyses, spatial statistics, and geographic mapping to efficiently inform policy developments in the UK and globally.
