Dr Rachel Sumner is the Senior Research Fellow for the Global Academy in Health and Human Performance (HHP GA). She is a chartered psychologist and psychobiologist whose work spans various domains of health, from social prescribing to occupational health and wellbeing. She currently jointly leads the CV19 Heroes project, tracking the welfare of frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work is quantitative, using biomarkers to understand cellular levels of health, as well as individual and population-level markers of health and wellbeing. Her research focus is around stress and its impact on physical health and wellbeing, from physical and working environments as well as through social and political factors.
