Nina Maxwell obtained her BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology with Criminal Justice at Glamorgan University. She went on to do a PhD which involved designing and delivering an intervention aimed at raising the aspirations of 12-14 year olds who were at risk of leaving compulsory education. She is now a chartered psychologist and Senior Research Fellow at the Children’s Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE) at Cardiff University. Her role includes the coordination and management of CASCADEs evaluative work. Nina is a mixed methods researcher with research interests in adolescence, private family law and workforce development. Her current projects involve developing a toolkit aimed at enhancing professional responses to criminally exploited children and a scoping review to determine the feasibility of an intervention aimed at diverting young people away from serious organised crime. Nina’s work aims to improve the outcomes for young people and their families.
