Nick received his BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of East Anglia and performed his doctoral studies at the University of Oxford. Nick remained at Oxford for several more years, undertaking postdoctoral work in the Microbiology Unit and Dunn School of Pathology, before establishing his own group at the Genetics Unit in the Department of Biochemistry.
