Lisa is Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at Swansea University. Her research focusses on feminist film historiography at the intersection of film studies, literary studies and archive studies. Her books include Reframing Vivien Leigh: Stardom, Gender and the Archive (Oxford University Press 2021), Off to the Pictures: Cinemagoing, Women’s Writing and Movie Culture in Interwar Britain (Edinburgh University Press 2016), and The Boundaries of the Literary Archive (Routledge 2013). She was PI for the AHRC ECR Leadership Fellow project ‘Reframing Vivien Leigh: Stardom, Gender and the Archive’ (2019), exploring regional star heritage, and CO-I on the AHRC Connected Communities project ‘Lost Spaces’ (2016), working with regional Deaf communities and archival film. Lisa’s current research focusses on ageing and older women in cinema in the wake of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.
