Jude was awarded her BSc (Hons) degree in Genetics from Cardiff University in 2005 and went on to complete a PhD in the field of molecular microbiology. Jude now works for a combined NHS-academic healthcare technology research centre called Cedar, based in Cardiff. Cedar is an External Assessment Centre for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and supplies evidence on medical devices and diagnostics to guide uptake of new and innovative healthcare technologies in the NHS. Jude’s research interests as a Senior Evaluation Scientist at Cedar encompass a wide range of clinical specialities including wound care, gynaecology, palliative care, and cardiology. She has expertise in methodologies such as systematic reviewing, statistics, health economics, clinical trial facilitation, and qualitative analysis of patient-reported outcomes. Jude is keen to promote high calibre research in Wales to drive improvements in patient care within a constrained Welsh NHS.
