Welsh Crucible 2024
Hayley obtained her PhD and is now a Research Fellow at DECIPHer (the Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement) in the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University. She is currently undertaking a Health and Care Research Wales Health Fellowship and is a co-principal investigator on a Wellcome Trust Mental Health Data Prize project.
Hayley’s research has a substantive focus on mental health and wellbeing, particularly for children and young people. Her methodological focus is on co-producing, adapting and implementing school and family-based health interventions, especially through participatory and qualitative approaches. For example, her PhD optimised and tested a co-production framework to support other researchers and school stakeholders to be able to develop school health and wellbeing plans. She is keen to work with other academics on emerging trends like digital innovations and artificial intelligence.
