Hanna received her BSc degree in psychology from Bangor University, she remained in Bangor to obtain her MA and PhD in Bilingualism funded by the ESRC. In her PhD she investigated the long-term linguistic outcomes for Welsh-English bilingual teenagers on measures of grammar and vocabulary. Following several years as a Teaching Associate, she is now working as a lecturer in the psychology department in Aberystwyth University. In addition to continuing her research on Welsh language acquisition, her current research activities include an interdisciplinary project examining the role of simultaneous translators in Welsh courtrooms involving with the Law and Welsh departments, and the role of Welsh language in dementia and healthcare with colleagues in psychology.
