Emma is an experienced clinical scientist who specialises in ultrasound heart scans. She trained and worked at the Cardiac Centre in Morriston Hospital for 10 years before moving to a clinical lecturing role at Swansea University. Emma went on to complete a PhD in the Wales Heart Research Institute and is now working as an Associate Professor of Healthcare Science in the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Science at Swansea University. Her current research is examining how diagnostic pathways may be improved by adding focused ultrasound scans at the point-of-care in community settings. This work is supported by a personal award from Health and Care Research Wales. Emma is committed to inter-disciplinary research and public engagement which are vital in finding solutions to the complex challenges faced by the NHS.
