Ashra is a senior research officer at Swansea University. She recently completed a Health and Care Research Wales Health Fellowship on people who frequently call the ambulance service using mixed methods (SAIL Data and qualitative interviews). Her research interests are in prevention and early intervention, working in partnership with the public, NHS, and 3rd Sector organisations to coproduce evidence-based research. Her most current research is looking at disparities in injury presentation to emergency services by ethnicity and another project developing a community based intervention to improve the uptake of diabetes follow-on eye, kidney and feet checks among ethnic minorities in Wales. She is also interested in including underserved groups in research to address challenges to migration and the climate emergency.
