Ahmed Elmesiry obtained his Ph.D. from South East Technological University, Ireland. He served as a senior research fellow in cyber security at Federico Santa María Technical University, Chile, and a Postdoctoral research fellow in cyber security at Malmo University, Sweden, and Monash University, Australia. He possesses 16+ years of experience during which he has held several academic and industrial positions in different parts of the world including Chile, Sweden, Australia, Ireland, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and the UK. He has worked on numerous industrial and international projects in areas involving cybersecurity, IoT, and machine learning in cross-discipline domains. Additionally. He was recently awarded a Microsoft-funded project related to “Adaptive IoT Security” and a Google-funded project related to “Teaching IoT Security Science”. He holds several professional and industrial certifications in the fields of managing networked systems and offensive cybersecurity from top US tech companies in these fields. He also has received six best paper awards at different international conferences in Denmark, USA, Portugal, Malaysia, and Chile. Ahmed is very interested in collaborating with researchers to resolve cybersecurity challenges in healthcare and critical national infrastructure.
