Ian is a Research Fellow and Co-investigator at Administrative Data Research Wales, where he leads a programme of data-linkage based research related to homelessness and housing. He is also data linkage lead and Co-Investigator on the PHaCT study, a pilot Randomised Control Trial of an intervention with prison leavers at risk of experiencing homelessness. Ian has an eclectic range of research interests, including homelessness, gender and sexuality, and the use of ‘data science’ in policy and practice. His most recent published research used linkage between housing and education records to quantify the effect of homelessness on pupil absenteeism from school. Ian is keen to further explore the use data science in other disciplines/policy areas, to develop a framework for the ethical use of these methods.
