Diana is a lecturer in journalism at Cardiff University, School of Journalism, Media, and Culture. Prior to her appointment at Cardiff University, she worked in China for over four years as an Assistant Professor in Journalism at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. There, in addition to teaching and researching journalism, she developed an interest in the pedagogy of media in the Global South. Originally, Diana obtained her PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Westminster, where she explored the Victorian news representations of skin diseases. Her research interests lie at the intersection of journalism, media history, disability studies, and medical humanities. Her most recent research explores the interdisciplinary applications of nonviolent communication.
