Sandy obtained her Ph.D. in economics at the University of Strathclyde and has undertaken a broad spectrum of research encompassing development economics, financial economics, international finance, tourism, business and management, statistical analysis and applied econometrics. She is a researcher in the field of Applied International Economics and Development in the accounting, economic and finance department at Cardiff School of Management. Her recent research includes how to boost productivity of firms across various sectors in Wales, the strategic roadmap of distributed technologies and future society at national and international levels, and circular economy innovation communities. Sandy has an especially keen interest in applied interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary research with policy implications.
