Claire obtained her BSc in Psychology and MSc in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology at Swansea University, and went on to complete her PhD there in 2012. She was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Swansea University and she has now been promoted to Associate Professor.
Claire has a strong track record of applied and translational research, leadership experience of delivering projects with clinical impact, and experience of developing specialist tools for use in brain injury. She has a particular interest in emotion deficit disorders and neurobehavioural disability after traumatic brain injury. Her most recent research also explores the role of emotional regulation in eating behaviour, as well as the impact of maternal birth experience on perceived infant temperament. Claire is keen to establish interdisciplinary work at the boundaries between scientific disciplines, to explore new ways of engaging with the wider public, and is committed to raising aspirations in under-represented groups.
