Welsh Crucible 2014
Sam Ladak completed his Physics undergraduate degree and PhD at the University of Exeter. After this he carried out a year in industry working at Seagate Technology designing magnetic sensors, before working as a postdoctoral researcher at The University of York and Imperial College. Recently, Sam has been awarded a SBP fellowship and is now employed as a lecturer at Cardiff University. Sam’s research studies the properties of nanoscale magnets in different geometries with a particular emphasis on data storage applications. Sam also has a strong interest in the use of e-technologies to support non-contact time learning and is in the process of writing a series of iPhone/Android apps to bring physics into the home.
Sam has been promoted to Senior Lecturer in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University.
