Yi obtained an MA in human geography from the University of Liverpool and a PhD from University College London after completing her bachelor degree in Information Engineering at Wuhan University (China). She is currently working as a Research Fellow at the Sustainable Places Research Institute at Cardiff University after working as a researcher at University College London and the University of Manchester for several years. Her current research interest is exploring the influences of place and environment (e.g. where people live) on human behaviour (e.g. physical exercise) and health both at individual and population level. Yi is very keen to develop interdisciplinary methods and tools that can help us to understand, communicate and visualise the complex relationships between the environment, behaviour and health.
