Renin is an expert in cardiovascular and infectious disease epidemiology and a fully accredited ONS researcher. She is currently a Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Honorary Lecturer at Bristol Medical School. She obtained a PhD in Medicine/Epidemiology from the University of Wollongong, Australia, followed by post-doctoral research in Sydney focused on geographic monitoring of cardiovascular risks to inform regional policy developments. She joined University of Bristol in 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher and involved in COVID-19 National Core Studies as part of the UK’s emergency response to the pandemic and currently contributing in a honorary capacity. Her mission is to identify the long-term cardiovascular effects and related deaths post COVID-19 in the UK population. Renin is open to collaboration with government and other agencies on post-COVID-19 cardiovascular projects that leverage big data, multilevel analyses, spatial statistics, and geographic mapping to efficiently inform policy developments in the UK and globally.
