Rebecca is a post-doctoral neurogeneticist within the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics. She obtained her BSc and PhD jn genetics and is currently studying for a MSc in Genetic Epidemiology and Bioinformatics. Her research focuses on identifying genetic risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and understanding how these translate into disease related biological systems. Her most recent work has identified two new genes that implicate microglia activation and the innate immune system in disease aetiology. Rebecca is keen to utilise innovative ideas in her research including non-traditional study designs. She is excited to meet like-minded scientists and explore how novel collaborations can impact neurodegenerative research.
