Mansur obtained his BA/License degree in Islamic theology from the prestigious Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He went on to complete postgraduate studies at the University of Manchester writing a PhD in Middle Eastern (Islamic) Studies. He is interested in Hadith studies, Islamic legal theory, Muslim chaplaincy, and Islam and bioethics. Currently he is a lecturer in Islamic Studies at Cardiff University, where he lectures on various topics on Islam, including Muslims in Britain, Islamic ethics and law. For the past five years, he has been researching the ethics of organ transplantation in Islamic theology and law and has been working closely with NHS Blood and Transplant. In addition to his post at the University, he is also a khatib (occasional imam) at the Dar ul Isra Mosque, Cardiff, UK. In 2015 he was the recipient of the British Imams and Scholars Award.
