Welsh Crucible 2014

Lisa studied medicine at Manchester University, followed by an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. After completing her PhD in London, she spent 10 years working on intervention studies to improve maternal and infant health in low income countries, which included 18 months living and working in rural Ghana. Last November, she returned to Wales to work as a research fellow with the Early Years programme at the Institute of Primary Care and Public Health. She is currently coordinating a new wave of data collection for the Welsh Study of Mothers and Babies, and is particularly interested in the development of new interventions to promote child development and social and emotional wellbeing in the early years.

Lisa has been promoted to Senior Lecturer in Cardiff School of Medicine at Cardiff University.
