Isabel is a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Medicine, specialising in lower limb biomechanics at Cardiff Metropolitan University. She obtained her BSc degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Exeter University, where she then went on to complete her award winning PhD research examining running technique and performance. She spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher investigating injury risk within elite sport and now advises several sporting National Governing Bodies on injury prevention and management strategies. Her research focuses on understanding the underpinning biomechanical and neuromuscular demands during running, incorporating physiological and psychological perspectives through collaborations with researchers, medical practitioners and coaches. Additionally, she is working with the Welsh Rugby Union to investigate subsequent injury patterns post concussion. Isabel is keen to use a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to develop evidence-based prehabilitation and rehabilitation practices for athletes and clinical populations.
