Yang obtained his D.Phil. in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, following an MSc in Software Engineering at Peking University and a B.Eng. in Computer Science from Ocean University of China. He subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) from 2018 to 2024 before joining Swansea University as a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science. His research focuses on data security and privacy-preserving computing, with particular interests in federated learning, blockchain-enabled privacy mechanisms, and secure AI systems. His recent work explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, aiming to improve the robustness, trustworthiness, and security of intelligent systems, with a growing emphasis on privacy-preserving solutions for cross-domain collaboration in areas such as finance, public administration, and healthcare.
