Emma obtained her BSc degree in Psychology at Swansea University in 1999; following this worked as an Assistant Psychologist for the NHS working in research areas for CAMHS, Critical Care and Adult Mental Health, whilst simultaneously completing a MSc in Psychology from the Open University. During a career break Emma completed a PGCE (PCET) then went on to employment at Swansea University as a Research Assistant on the Cognitive Function and Ageing Study. Emma then embarked on her PhD journey, examining visual attention and brain processing speed in ageing and vascular dementia. Emma is three years Post Doc working as a senior Researcher within the Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research (CADR). Her most current research is examining white matter lesions in the brain and their associations with hearing loss, alongside a second project improving environments for people with hearing loss.
