Dr Ellen Evans is a Research Fellow at the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre. As a qualified professional chef and after completing a PhD focusing on the food safety risks associated with listeriosis among older adults at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Ellen has conducted numerous cognitive and behavioural food safety research project. Her research encompasses three critical areas for food safety: (i) food safety compliance and certification in the Welsh food and drink manufacturing industry, (ii) consumer food safety practices in the domestic setting, and (iii) the provision of food safety information to vulnerable patient groups in health care settings. Ellen is particularly active with the International Association for Food Protection and is the current President of the UK Association for Food Protection. Ellen is excited to participate in the Welsh Crucible to explore opportunities for cross-disciplinary research and innovation collaborations in Wales.
