Charlotte Jones is a Sociology Lecturer at Swansea University. Her research sits at the intersection of gender, sexuality, disability and medicine, and sociological analyses of power, care, and knowledge.
She completed a PhD in Sociology at the University of Sheffield after receiving a BA and MA in English. Prior to joining Swansea, she was Research Fellow at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health at the University of Exeter, and held research posts at the University of Edinburgh, Brunel University, and Sheffield Hallam University.
Her previous work has explored the governance of bodies and forms of resistance, including research on intersex/variations of sex characteristics (VSCs), healthcare activism, and the politics of public toilets. Most recently, she has focused on the safety work involved in publicly communicating LGBTQ+ research.
