Aled is a Royal Geographical Society Fellow with a professional background in urban renewal, community development, participation and arts-based regeneration. Aled is a Lecturer at the School of Geography and Planning at Cardiff University. His current research considers the barriers and opportunities for renewable energy in and around Wales. His wider interests concern economic development and our long-term relationships with infrastructure investments. Aled is interested in attachments to place and has published widely on methods which involve walking approaches and inter-disciplinary collaborations. For the future he is interested in making online data available so the public can better understand future energy systems and can pursue options such as community ownership. To that end he has started a project which links Wales with northern Pakistan.
