Abubakar Sha’aban is a health services researcher and academic with expertise in public health research, patient safety, and evidence-informed policy. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University, an MSc from the University of Lagos, and a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is currently a Research Associate at the Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre, Cardiff University, where he leads and contributes to nationally commissioned research addressing priority questions for Welsh Government and NHS Wales. His work has informed major policy and service developments, advancing equitable, patient-centred care. Abubakar is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has an established track record of high-impact publications and policy-relevant outputs. He is particularly committed to translating research into real-world impact and shaping health systems improvement.
