Alexandros is a computer music researcher, lecturer in sonic arts in Cardiff School of Art and Design (CSAD) and a musician. He has studied physics, signal processing, classical music and computer music in Greece (University of Athens, Conservatory of Athens) and in France (ACROE, IRCAM). His research and musical interests are situated at the intersection of art, science and technology. He has published several articles and participated in many workshops related to music performance, music interaction and musical composition. He has also participated in music ensembles and composed acoustic and electronic music. Recently he has been designing and developing open source /open hardware haptic interfaces and haptic digital instruments for musical creation and composing music for them in collaboration with a researcher in computer music from Stanford University.

 

2016 Update: Alexandros has been promoted to Senior Lecturer in Sonic Arts and Art/Science/Technology in Cardiff School of Art and Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Alexandros is currently on a career break working on art/design projects while travelling, returning to Cardiff Metropolitan University in September 2017.
