Praboda obtained her B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and her PhD in Computer Science from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France. She is currently a Lecturer in Health Data Science at Aberystwyth University and a Data Scientist at Hywel Dda Health Board, NHS Wales. With over a decade of experience as a Research Scientist, Praboda has built deep expertise in data analysis, multimodal AI, and responsible AI development. She has successfully secured competitive research funding from EPSRC UKRI, the Welsh Government, Innovate UK, and Hywel Dda Health Board, reflecting strong recognition of her research impact. Her work focuses on advancing multimodal AI technologies to address complex real-world challenges targeting both human and plant health, including early disease detection in agriculture and personalised healthcare solutions.
