Laura obtained her BA Hons degree in Social Anthropology and Development Studies at the University of Sussex and went on to complete an MSc in Marine Environmental Protection at Bangor University. She then obtained a PhD at the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at James Cook University in Australia after 3.5 years working at the Cayman Islands Government Department of Environment on Darwin Initiative projects. She is now working as a Research Fellow in the School of Ocean Sciences at Bangor University. Her most current research examines the stock status of Welsh fisheries for Welsh Government. Laura is excited to develop her career to lead solution-focused research that is impactful, interdisciplinary and of benefit to society in understanding how best to manage and promote coastal resilience in a warming world.
