Liz obtained a BMus from Royal Holloway College, University and London, going on to obtain an MA in Music Therapy from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and a PhD from the University of South Wales. She is Programme Lead for the only HCPC approved Music Therapy programme in Wales. Her most current research explores the benefits of early years music-making and music therapy for families and includes policy recommendations relating to provision of the same and training for providers. She is also leading on research with displaced families globally using music therapy to reduce PTSD and improve parent/infant bonding as well as exploring links between child development and family music-making. Liz is keen to develop policy and communicate with local and national governing bodies the value and importance of these provisions.
