Naeem earned his PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, and obtained his M.Phil. in High Energy Physics and B.Sc.(Hons.) in Computational Physics degrees from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. After working four years in Germany at the University of Bonn and Forschungszentrum Juelich as a postdoc fellow and visiting PhD student he moved to the UK. He is currently a Royal Society-Newton International Fellow at the Department of Physics, Swansea University. Naeem is extremely passionate about science communication. He is the founding member of the UK Young Academy. His research focuses on the strong nuclear force that binds quarks and gluons to form hadrons. He is particularly interested in exotic particles which involve more complex and unusual combinations of quarks. These particles appear extremely elusive and unstable and are assumed to have existed in the early stages of our Universe.
