Seren is currently the Programme Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing at Bangor University (BU). He role involves leading a team of 14 staff in teaching and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate health and nursing students. She is a registered mental health nurse and followed up her nurse education with a BSc. in Psychology and Health Psychology and a PhD (2003) in Psychology, at BU. In 2002 she took up a mental health research post with BU, a role she stayed in for over 10 years gaining valuable research experience, before taking up a lectureship in 2014. Her most recent research has focused on employment support for people with mental health problems and factors that affect student resilience in the face of COVID disruption, although she is also interested in the link between physical and mental health, health psychology, and public health more widely.
