Welsh Crucible 2019
Chiara obtained a BA in Humanities and an MA in Linguistics at the University of Bologna in Italy, after which she went on to complete a PhD in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher for four years, first in Germany (Saarland University) and then at the University of Edinburgh. Since 2017 she has been a lecturer in Psychology at Cardiff University. Her most current research is investigating how predicting what their interlocutor will say can help two- to five-year olds learn new words and sentence structures.
Chiara is keen to explore how her research can be applied to inform curriculum design and build better language learning apps.
