Welsh Crucible 2016
Stephanie obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, USA. She completed her MSc degree at Stonybrook University in Marine Environmental Science and her PhD in Marine Science at the College of William and Mary, Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Her focus is on zooplankton (including jellyfish), the tiny and not-so-tiny oceanic drifters. She has conducted zooplankton research in many parts of the world looking at how zooplankton impact the biological carbon pump and how zooplankton may be influenced by climate change. Her most current local research is developing and utilising an inexpensive time-lapse photographic monitoring system for jellyfish around the coast of North Wales. She is very keen on multidisciplinary collaborations as well as participating in science outreach with the public.
