Sue is a Research Fellow in the School of Engineering at Cardiff University. She evaluates medical devices using systematic review methods, health economic modelling and clinical trials, and also runs a 3rd year medical engineering module on medical device evaluation and adoption.
Sue has a first degree in Physics, MScs in Computing and Medical Physics, and a PhD in cardiovascular physiology modelling. She has also trained and worked as an NHS Medical Physicist.
By chance rather than design she spent 4 years doing qualitative research into medical device design and adoption, before returning to health technology assessment (HTA). More recently she has developed an interest in medical devices for developing countries. She is interested in any research topic that involves medical devices, from first concepts to wide scale adoption.
