Richard is a neuroscientist who researches the way the human brain stores and uses our knowledge of people, objects, and words. Further, he tries to understand how these abilities break down following brain injury or disease (e.g., in dementia). To do so, he uses behavioural measures such as reaction times and accuracy scores, usually in parallel with brain imaging and brain stimulation techniques.
Richard is currently a lecturer in the School of Psychology at Bangor University. He is keen to hear from people with diverse disciplinary backgrounds about their interests in brain function and how insights from cognitive science can be applied to improving the quality of life of those with neurological disabilities.
