Peter joined PDR to lead the patient-specific medical design centre. This centre was created to improve the links between clinical needs and device development for patient-specific products. Having completed his undergraduate degree in Product Design and Manufacture, Peter spent a number of years in industry as a design engineer. Further work as Research Officer with the Manufacturing Advisory Service followed, before being awarded an EPSRC Doctoral training grant to complete his PhD at Cardiff Business School; his thesis investigated how aspects of innovation management influence the success of emerging technologies in different organisational settings. His current role is that of Research Fellow at PDR, with interests in the area of emergent technologies (e.g. desk based 3D printing), knowledge transfer with SMEs and creative practitioners, and Open Innovation.
Peter has moved to Swansea University and is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering.
