Jesse received a BA and MA in Human Geography at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, before completing a PhD at the same institution. Focusing on rural society and community change, these interests were carried forward as postdoctoral researcher in the Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD), and as a lecturer in political geography from 2012 onwards.
Jesse is currently involved in funded projects which; consider the role of older volunteers in social and political life of rural localities, and; explore the character and impact of globalization in rural space. In this respect he is keen to be involved in further initiatives which explore the important role rural communities play on a regional, national and international stage, and particularly the value of voluntary institutions in this context.
Jesse is now a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Earth Science at Aberystwyth University.
