James has an interest in the fundamental molecular mechanisms of     chronic inflammatory diseases. He obtained his BSc in Microbiology from King’s College London and was awarded a PhD in chronicinflammationand cancer from Swansea University. Following 7 years of post-doctoral research he is now a lecturer in Swansea University Medical School. He teaches immunity and medical genetics to undergraduate and master’s students and carries out research into chronic inflammatory diseases. His recent work has established how the activation of an important pathway for the resolution of inflammation can also be detrimental for fertility. James also has interests in graphic design and photography and is always keen to find new opportunities for collaborations.

James has been promoted to Associate Professor at Swansea University Medical School in Swansea University.
