Kate writes fiction and poetry. Her novel, Eva Shell, came out in 2008 and her poetry collection, Bistro, was published in 2012. Kate gained a BA in English from Aberystwyth University, an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and a PhD in Creative Writing from Cardiff University. She teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate English and Creative Writing programmes at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Kate has research interests in contemporary British and American fiction and contemporary British poetry. She is particularly interested in feminist, post human and cyborg theories in relation to writing craft and practice. She is also interested in the communication of scientific and medical issues through the medium of poetry.
Kate has now been promoted to Principal Lecturer, Reader in Creative Writing in Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
