Kat is currently a Research Officer in the Public Health Collaborating Unit, School of Health Sciences at Bangor University. Kat obtained her BA Hons degree in Human Geography at the University of Liverpool and went on to achieve an MA in Research Methodology and her PhD at the same institution.
Her research interests include violence prevention, specifically research on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the misuse of alcohol and management of the night-time economy. Kat has worked on a number of ACE studies, including most recently the first UK study to explore the prevalence of ACEs and understand associated offending outcomes in an adult UK prison population.
