Davide obtained his PhD in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and moved to Cardiff to work as a research associate in structural health monitoring. He is now working as a lecturer in mechanical engineering, doing research in areas related to structural health monitoring of aerospace structures.

His main research interest is signal processing, data management and machine learning; he is developing new techniques to assess damage in body armour and helmets, and is beginning a project on the early detection of osteoarthritis based on joint inaudible sound signature.

Davide has now moved from academia to industry and is now a Mechanical Design Engineer at Diamond Light Source.
