Antonia is a senior lecturer in psychology at Aberystwyth University. Her background has been in the field of music psychology, gaining a BSc (Hons) in psychology with music, before completing an MSc and PhD in social music psychology at Keele University. Antonia has worked at Loughborough University and the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, before moving to Aberystwyth in 2010.
A qualitative researcher, Antonia’s research interests are in social interaction from the perspectives of discursive psychology and conversation analysis, where she has conducted and supervised research on embodied interactions in conservatoire music lessons, musical theatre rehearsals, and speech and language therapy telemedicine consultations.
As a qualified coach and mentor, Antonia has more recently sought to combine her interests in hiking and the outdoors with projects that look at individuals’ engagement with the outdoors, and the use of nature in the understanding of self and promotion of wellbeing.
